I've Moved

come on over
i'm still unpacking boxes
but i'd love to see you

well spent

An afternoon, playing Canasta with my nearly 90 year old Grandmother.
Kissing red 3's, feeding each other black 3's, and going out with concealed Canasta's.

NYE

NYE, time to reflect ever so briefly on what has been, who you've been and who you'd like to become, maybe!
This morning I finished pasting our Christmas cards into our scrapbooks. Nothing fancy just paste and stick. I've kept, pasted and stuck every card that my family has received since I was married. We all have our own scrapbook, some have two and three. I must get around to covering them with some gift wrap in the new year.
Within the pages are the cards we received on our wedding day, anniversary cards, cards we received when we purchased our first home, baptism and birthday cards, I've even kept some of the envelopes.

It was lovely to flick through the pages again, I only do it a few times a year.
I love looking at all the different hand writings, below is my Nan's handwriting, I love it!

My Aunty likes to jazz up her cards with colour and stickers, so sweet.

Christmas cards, filled with brief notes from people we have only seen perhaps once in the year. As we exchange cards at Christmas, we try to fill a years worth of news onto one piece of card!

And then there's these ones that tell me I've been...

someone very special
a beautiful daughter
a wonderful daughter
a special granddaughter
a best friend
a wonderful wife
a mummy
a dear daughter-in-law
a wonderful sister-in-law
a special sister-in-law
Such a scream! perhaps I have been, perhaps I haven't, it's nice though to have it in writing, that I possibly have been all of the above!
Good-bye 2008! I'm actually glad to see you go, it's time to welcome in 2009, time to pop open the champagne, and open the chocolates, in anticipation of what is to come!

HAPPY NEW YEARS EVE!

It's a wrap

Christmas is over for another year, we enjoyed Christmas at three different places over two days.
Christmas lunch was spent at my in-laws, I think Emma was secretly wishing that she'd brought her new MacBook Pro that she found in her stocking...
After lunch we went down to the back of my in-laws property and the boys got to try out their Christmas presents that Santa left in their stockings.
Tom on his new bike...
Jack in motion...what was Santa thinking leaving a new motorbike under the tree!

Next stop, Christmas night at my father's and his wife's house, more presents to unwrap, and sparkling red Shiraz to drink.

Boxing Day was spent at my brother and sister-in-law's house, more presents, swims in the pool,

susan + samantha with Upsy Daisy + Iggle Piggle + Makka Pakka.

turkey and ham and sparkling pink champagne with strawberries to sip.

With Christmas over, New Year's Eve is only a few days away, I can't wait to welcome in the New Year! I love the beginning of a fresh new year.
My motto for 2009 is going to be Run, don't walk!
If you find as this year closes that you have things left on your list that you wanted to see, do, make, that for whatever reason never happened, never mine as there is a fresh new year only days away. Make plans, grand plans! Don't walk, but run! Of course if you only want to lay back and watch the clouds float by that's ok too, as some years that's what's needed.
I have a blueprint by my side, I have no cloud watching pencilled in, but no doubt there will be curve balls thrown in my path, my life wouldn't be mine if there wasn't, but I'm good at jumping hurdles and I know how to hold on tight when I'm forced to ride the rollercoaster.
"This is the beginning of a new day. You have been given this day to use as you will. You can waste it or use it for good. What you do today is important because you are exchanging a day of your life for it. When tomorrow comes, this day will be gone forever; in its place is something that you have left behind...let it be something good." Author Unknown
See you on Day 1 of 09!
